WiFi Livre (“WiFi free” in Portuguese) is a portal that lists the locations of Brazilian establishments that offer free Internet access. Developed by AMD-sponsored Meninos do Morumbi, WiFi Livre was established to encourage the growth of wireless connections and social networking in Brazil. The service is free and currently includes more than 150 listings. Current high-tech news articles are also posted on the site. Another goal of the portal is to help Meninos do Morumbi gain financial sustainability by generating advertising revenue.
The WiFi Livre Website also contains two complementary features. The WiFi Livre blog contains posts discussing the various sites that offer Internet access. Radio WiFi Livre is an Internet radio channel that allows local bands to showcase their work.
